Strategic Advisory

Expertise applied to decisions, so the school chooses well before problems get expensive.

We start with an assessment: a documented view of your technology and input from faculty and staff, before a major investment. We scope it with you in a first conversation, and the findings give your leadership team a practical starting point for priorities, budgets, and a longer-term plan. How the assessment works

What it is

A seat at the table for the technology decisions schools face, including the ones they don't realize are technology decisions.

How it works

Advisory is part of every Edu-Tech relationship and is also available on its own. We help school leaders understand their technology, set priorities, and plan investments. On construction and renovation projects, Edu-Tech serves as the school's IT Owner's Representative, representing the school in conversations with builders, vendors, and trades.

  1. 1

Document your infrastructure, listen to faculty and staff, and build a findings report your leadership team and board can use to set priorities and budgets.

  2. 2

IT Owner's Representative work on construction and renovation projects, representing the school across builders, vendors, and trades.

  3. 3

Strategic technology planning, vendor and contract negotiation, and budget guidance.

  4. 4

Edu-Tech sells no hardware and carries no quotas. We represent only the school's interests.

Who it's for

School leadership and boards facing consequential decisions: a building project, a leadership transition, a technology overhaul, a budget reckoning. People who need someone on their side of the table who's seen it before.

Where we start

The Jumpstart Assessment

A structured, on-site evaluation of your school's technology and operations, built from infrastructure documentation, faculty and staff interviews, and hands-on walkthroughs, ending in a findings report and a plan of action you can budget on.

  1. 1
    Listen

Surveys and interviews gather candid input from faculty, staff, and administrators.

  2. 2
    Look

Hands-on documentation of infrastructure, devices, systems, and how work actually gets done.

  3. 3
    Report

A findings report with a prioritized plan of action your leadership team and board can act on.

It starts with a conversation. We talk through what's going on at your school, then scope the assessment together so it fits your school and answers the questions you have.

Embedded staffing

Part of the school, not outside consultants

Upland Country Day School

At Upland Country Day, embedded Edu-Tech staff handle technology leadership and support from inside the community. They are present in hallways and classrooms, not on the other end of a ticket queue.

Common questions

"We already have someone handling our technology."
One person can't cover what a school's technology now demands: operations, security, classroom, and planning. When that person leaves, everything they knew leaves with them. Edu-Tech doesn't replace a good person; it backs them, or becomes them, with a full team, so the school is never one resignation away from starting over.
"We can't afford it."
Compare it against the true cost of the alternative: salary, benefits, taxes, training, and turnover for a hire the school still has to manage, or the cost of a provider who doesn't know schools. Edu-Tech scopes to what the school actually needs and flexes the engagement as budgets shift. For cybersecurity, the question isn't whether the school can afford protection; it's whether it can afford a denied claim.
"We've been burned by outside providers before."
Most providers serve every industry and learn schools on the school's dime. Edu-Tech has only ever supported schools, and the model puts a named person in your building. Trust is earned through background checks, reputation, and being in the building, not claimed in a proposal.
"We're not sure we need all of this."
Maybe not. Edu-Tech doesn't sell from a standard menu. We start with an assessment to get an honest baseline of where the school stands across infrastructure, security, support, and classroom use. What comes next is shaped by what we find, scaled to what the school requires, and nothing more. The assessment is the commitment; everything after is a decision made with better information.
